What's New for 2023-2024!

EFHL Continues to make small changes to our league based on Board of Director Approval.

The following changes have been approved by the EFHL Board of Directors for the 2023-2024 Season.

1.  The EFHL Board of Directors have approved changes to scheduling for the following divisions and categories of play in order to create regional conferences to reduce travel for games during the EFHL Tiering round, Regular Season and Playoffs.  This may included North and South and East and West Conferences.  All other categories of play within the EFHL will remain the same.

         U9 Tiers 3-6

         U11 Tiers 2-5

U13 Tiers 5-6 (Non Provincial Divisions)

2.  The EFHL will be continuing with Electronic Game Sheets through a partnership with Hockey Alberta and RAMP Interactive to reduce administration and provide up to date statistics and scoring for the league.  Please use Coach, Manager or Officials information and training tools for more information.

3.  The EFHL Ice Management Committee has identified and rated various EFHL arena facilities from our membership and the EFHL Board has voted that on best available basis EFHL games will only take place in appropriate arenas for the age divisions and level of play ensuring appropriate facilities are available for both female and male athletes.

4.  EFHL will be continuing black out periods where for a fee of $100.00 prior to the start of scheduling, teams will be able to request blackout weekends for tournaments they will be attending based on payment and approval of ice and operations.  This is a user fee services for teams wishing to guarantee tournament weekends prior to the schedule being released.  All monies collected from tournament blackout weekends will go back to the league for the Board to determine future use.

5.  EFHL will be continuing the $50.00 user fee for teams wishing to change games were an ice time is cancelled and a new ice time is added to the league schedule.  This fee will be applied to teams who request game changes and are not able to complete a swap where only teams change and the schedule remains the same.  (Game swaps continue to be free of charge to teams.)

6.  EFHL Board of Directors have approved an additional tiering meeting on January 31st to provide additional flexibility to move uncompetitive teams during the regular season to a more appropriate tier for playoffs.  They will continue to play the remainder or the regular season in the tier following the initial tiering meeting but will be moved for playoffs.
